Seville, Spain, forecast to reach 38°C under strong sunshine

Heat intensifies from September 12 as high pressure aloft sets in
From September 11 to September 17, temperatures are expected to rise in Spain as strong sunshine combines with high pressure aloft. Skies will have few clouds, and strong sunshine will continue to warm the surface. Around 5,000 m aloft, a ridge of high pressure extends farther than in the surrounding areas, creating conditions in which clouds are unlikely to form. This pattern is expected to continue.
Outlook for each area
Strong sunshine and high pressure aloft will continue throughout the period. Seville is expected to reach 38°C from September 11 to September 17, with low humidity of 15% to 24%, resulting in dry heat. Madrid is also expected to reach 36°C on September 15, with low humidity at 15%, making for dry heat. Meanwhile, Bilbao is expected to range from 23°C to 32°C, while Barcelona is expected to range from 26°C to 29°C as the ridge of high pressure aloft is less pronounced; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
Please avoid going outside during the daytime as much as possible. Drink fluids frequently and, indoors, improve air circulation, taking precautions against the heat.
