Temperatures to rise as high pressure aloft builds in

From September 13 to September 15, strong sunshine and high pressure aloft will combine to raise temperatures in Spain. Skies will be mostly clear, and strong sunshine will continue warming the ground. Around 5,000 m aloft, a ridge of high pressure extends more prominently than in surrounding areas, creating conditions unfavorable for cloud formation. The heat is expected to peak on September 14.

Outlook for various areas

During this period, strong sunshine and the influence of high pressure aloft will continue. Seville is expected to reach 38°C from September 13 to September 15, while humidity will remain low at 14% to 17%, resulting in dry heat. Madrid is also expected to reach 36°C on September 15, with humidity at 11%, bringing similarly dry heat. Meanwhile, temperatures in Bilbao will range from 27°C to 31°C, while Barcelona will remain at 28°C to 29°C because the ridge of high pressure aloft is weaker there. Neither location is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids frequently, and take measures to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
