Temperatures to rise due to warm air and strong sunshine

On September 15, temperatures in Spain are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies will have little cloud, and strong sunshine will continue warming the surface. While strong sunshine continues to warm the ground, warm air of +18°C or higher around 1,500 m aloft is spreading broadly from the Atlantic and continuing to warm areas near the surface. As a result, daytime temperatures are expected to rise easily.

Outlook across the regions

During this period, strong sunshine and warm air will continue. Seville is expected to reach 36°C on the 15th, and with humidity at 17%, the heat will be dry. Madrid is also expected to reach 35°C on the 15th, with humidity low at 11%, making for dry heat as well. Meanwhile, Barcelona will reach 29°C and Bilbao 26°C, and neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the daytime as much as possible. Drink water frequently, improve ventilation indoors, and take precautions against the heat.
