Spain to reach 37°C on September 25 under strong sunshine

Temperatures to rise as strong sunshine continues for seven days
From September 20 to 26, temperatures in Spain are expected to rise as strong sunshine coincides with high pressure aloft. Skies will have few clouds, allowing strong sunshine to continue warming the ground. Around 5,000 m above the surface, a ridge of high pressure extends farther out than in surrounding areas, creating conditions that make clouds less likely to form. The heat is expected to peak on September 25.
Outlook for major cities
Strong sunshine and high pressure aloft will continue throughout the period. Warm air will also flow into Seville, where temperatures are expected to reach 37°C from the 20th through the 26th, with humidity between 15% and 23%, resulting in low-humidity, dry heat. In Seville, clouds are expected to spread on the 27th, weakening the sunshine and bringing temperatures down to 32°C. Madrid is forecast to see 30–34°C, Bilbao 26–32°C, and Barcelona 26–29°C; none is expected to reach 35°C.
Please avoid going outside during the daytime as much as possible. Drink water frequently and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
