High pressure aloft to push temperatures in Spain up to 37°C on September 25

Temperatures to rise as high pressure aloft builds
From September 21 through September 26, temperatures in Spain will rise as high pressure aloft combines with strong sunshine. Around 5,000 m above the ground, a ridge of high pressure is extending more prominently than its surroundings, making clouds less likely to form beneath it. Skies are expected to remain mostly clear, and strong sunshine will continue to warm the surface, with the heat forecast to peak on September 25.
Outlook for locations
High pressure aloft and strong sunshine will continue throughout the period. Seville is expected to reach 37°C from the 21st through the 26th, with low humidity of 15% to 21%, resulting in dry heat. Madrid is expected to reach 35°C on the 25th, with humidity at 10%, also bringing dry heat. Bilbao is forecast to range from 25°C to 32°C, while Barcelona is forecast at 26°C to 29°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
Please avoid going outside during the day as much as possible. Take fluids frequently and, indoors, ensure good airflow by improving ventilation as you take precautions against the heat.
