High-pressure ridge aloft expected to push temperatures to 37°C in Seville, Spain

Temperatures to rise as high pressure aloft expands
From September 22 to September 26, temperatures are expected to rise in Spain as high pressure aloft combines with warm air. Around 5,000 m above the ground, a high-pressure ridge is extending more prominently than in the surrounding areas, making clouds less likely to form below it. In addition, at around 1,500 m, warm air of +21°C or higher is spreading from the Atlantic and continuing to warm areas near the surface. This pattern is expected to continue.
Outlook for locations across Spain
During this period, the country will remain under high pressure aloft and warm air. Seville is forecast to reach 37°C from the 22nd through the 26th, with humidity ranging from 14% to 18%, resulting in low-humidity, dry heat. Madrid is forecast to reach 35°C on the 25th, with humidity at 11%, bringing similarly dry heat. After that, clouds are expected to spread over Seville on the 27th, reducing sunshine and bringing temperatures down to 34°C. Bilbao is expected to see 25–31°C, while Barcelona is expected to see 26–28°C; neither location is expected to reach 35°C.
Please avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids frequently, and take steps to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
