Upper-level high pressure expected to bring 38°C temperatures to Seville, Spain

Temperatures to rise as upper-level high pressure builds
From September 23 through September 26, high pressure aloft and warm air are expected to overlap across Spain, bringing rising temperatures. Around 5,000 m above the surface, a high-pressure ridge extends farther than its surroundings, making clouds less likely to form below it. At around 1,500 m, air at +21°C or higher is spreading from the Atlantic and continuing to warm the air near the surface. These conditions are expected to persist throughout this period.
Outlook for locations across the country
High pressure and warm air are expected to remain in place aloft throughout the period. In Seville, stronger sunshine is expected to push temperatures as high as 38°C from the 23rd through the 26th. Humidity will be low, at 12% to 15%, resulting in dry heat. The heat in Seville is expected to ease on the 27th as clouds spread and sunshine weakens, with temperatures falling to 33°C. Madrid is forecast to reach 33–34°C, Bilbao 25–33°C, and Barcelona 27–28°C; none are expected to reach 35°C.
Please avoid going outdoors during the daytime whenever possible. Drink water frequently and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
