As high pressure aloft expands, temperatures in Spain will reach 38°C on September 26

Temperatures rise as high pressure aloft expands
From September 24 to September 26, high pressure aloft and warm air will combine over Spain, driving temperatures higher. Around 5,000 m above the surface, a ridge of high pressure extends more prominently than in the surrounding areas, making clouds less likely to form below it. Around 1,500 m, warm air of +21°C or higher is spreading from the Atlantic and continues to warm the area near the surface. The heat is expected to peak by September 26.
Outlook for locations
High pressure aloft and warm air will persist throughout the period. Seville will see increasing sunshine and reach 38°C from September 24 through September 26, with humidity of 12% to 16%, resulting in dry heat. Madrid will reach 33–34°C, Bilbao 24–32°C, and Barcelona 26–28°C; none of these cities is expected to reach 35°C.
Please avoid going outdoors during the daytime as much as possible. Drink fluids frequently, and take precautions against the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
