Temperatures to rise as high pressure aloft extends over the area

From September 28 through September 29, high pressure aloft and strong sunshine are expected to raise temperatures in Taiwan. Around 5,000 m above the ground, a ridge of high pressure extends farther than its surroundings, making clouds less likely. Mostly sunny conditions are expected to continue, allowing sunlight to warm the surface.

Outlook for locations

High pressure aloft and strong sunshine are expected to continue during the period. Warm air will also flow into Taipei, where temperatures are forecast to reach 35°C from September 28 through September 29, with humidity high at 61% to 63%, making conditions muggy. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to reach 33–34°C in Taichung, 32°C in Kaohsiung, and 29°C in Hualien, where sunshine will be weaker; none is expected to reach 35°C.

Avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink water frequently, improve air circulation indoors, and take measures to protect yourself from the heat.
