Temperatures to rise as high pressure builds aloft

From September 29 to September 30, high pressure aloft and strong sunshine will combine over Taiwan, raising temperatures. Around 5,000 m aloft, a high-pressure ridge extends farther than its surroundings, creating conditions in which clouds are unlikely to form. This pattern, with generally sunny skies and sunshine warming the surface, is expected to continue.

Outlook for locations

During this period, high pressure will build aloft, and strong sunshine will continue. Warm air will also flow into Taipei, where a high of 35°C is forecast from September 29 to September 30, with humidity expected to range from 48% to 57%. Temperatures in Taichung are forecast at 33–34°C, Kaohsiung at 31–32°C, and Hualien at 30–32°C; none are expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors during the daytime as much as possible. Drink water frequently and take steps to protect yourself from the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
