Taipei, Taiwan, forecast to reach 35°C under high pressure aloft

High pressure aloft brings rising temperatures
High pressure aloft and warm air will combine to raise temperatures across Taiwan on October 20. Around 5,000 m above the ground, a ridge of high pressure is extending strongly over the area, making cloud formation less likely below. In addition, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Philippine Sea around 1,500 m above the ground, continuing to warm areas near the surface. As a result, daytime temperatures are forecast to rise readily.
Outlook for major cities
High pressure aloft and warm air are expected to persist throughout the period. Sunshine is also expected to strengthen in Taipei, where temperatures are forecast to reach 35°C on the 20th. Humidity will also be high at 60%, making conditions muggy. Taichung is forecast to reach 33°C, Kaohsiung 32°C and Hualien 28°C, all below 35°C.
Please limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
