Conditions on Tuesday, Oct. 20, are forecast to be extremely hot, with a high of 35°C—the week's highest—and a low of 25°C. Overall, daytime temperatures in Taipei are forecast to rise gradually from Oct. 16 to 20, with mostly sunny weather.

Taipei to cool from Oct. 21, with rain as well as sunny spells

In the latter part of the week, from Wednesday, Oct. 21, through Thursday, Oct. 22, temperatures in Taipei are expected to drop noticeably as the chance of rain rises. After a forecast high of 35°C on Tuesday, Oct. 20, Wednesday is forecast to be partly cloudy, with a high of 27°C, a low of 22°C and a 20% chance of rain—a marked drop from the previous day. On Thursday, Oct. 22, conditions are forecast to be sunny with occasional rain, with the high falling further to 25°C and the low to 19°C. The chance of rain is expected to rise to 50%, the highest of the week. Sunny, steady conditions in Kaohsiung, Taichung and Hualien; larger temperature drop in Hualien

Kaohsiung, Taichung and Hualien are forecast to remain mostly sunny this week, with less pronounced temperature changes than Taipei. Taichung is forecast to be sunny on Friday, Oct. 16, with a high of 33°C and a low of 23°C, and sunny on Thursday, Oct. 22, with a high of 29°C and a low of 21°C, a drop of about 4°C. Hualien is forecast to be partly cloudy on Friday, Oct. 16, with a high of 30°C and a low of 24°C, and sunny on Thursday, Oct. 22, with a high of 25°C and a low of 21°C. Its temperature drop is more pronounced than those in Kaohsiung and Taichung. Overall, conditions are expected to remain steady in the south and central Taiwan, while Hualien is forecast to see a relatively larger temperature decline.
