Warm Air Aloft to Raise Temperatures
Temperatures are expected to rise across Thailand on October 9 under the influence of warm air. Air at 1,500 m above ground is at least +18°C and has spread widely from the South China Sea, continuing to warm the air near the surface. This is making daytime temperatures more likely to rise.
Forecast for Major Cities
Warm air is expected to persist during the forecast period. Bangkok is forecast to reach 35°C on the 9th, with humidity at 55%. Chiang Mai is forecast to reach 34°C and Phuket 33°C, both below 35°C.
People are advised to limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
