Warm air and strong sunshine to drive temperatures higher

Temperatures are expected to rise across Thailand on October 10 as warm air combines with strong sunshine. At around 1,500 m, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading broadly from the South China Sea and continues to warm the air near the surface. Relatively limited cloud cover, along with strong sunshine, is making temperatures more likely to rise during the day.

Forecast for major locations

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist during the period. Chiang Mai is forecast to reach 35°C on October 10, with humidity at 53%. On October 11, clouds are expected to spread and sunshine to weaken, bringing temperatures down to 31°C. Bangkok and Phuket are each forecast to reach 34°C, below 35°C.

Limit outdoor activity during the day where possible. Drink water regularly and take steps to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
