Warm air and strong sunshine to push temperatures higher

On October 19, temperatures across Thailand are expected to rise as warm air combines with strong sunshine. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the South China Sea at around 1,500 m above the ground and continues to warm the surface. With relatively few clouds and strong sunshine, daytime temperatures are expected to rise more easily.

Outlook for major cities

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist during the period. Bangkok is forecast to reach 35°C on the 19th, with humidity at a high 65%, making conditions feel muggy. Chiang Mai is forecast to reach 34°C, while Phuket is expected to reach 33°C with weaker sunshine; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Please limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take measures to cope with the heat, such as drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
