Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

Warm air and strong sunshine will combine to raise temperatures across Thailand on Oct. 21. At around 1,500 m, air warmer than +18°C is spreading widely from the South China Sea and continues to warm areas near the surface. With relatively few clouds and strong sunshine, daytime temperatures are expected to rise.

Outlook for major cities

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist during the period. Bangkok is forecast to reach 35°C on the 21st, with humidity also high at 64%, making conditions hot and humid. Chiang Mai is forecast to reach 34°C, while Phuket is expected to reach 33°C under weaker sunshine. Neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Try to limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids regularly and take measures to cope with the heat, such as keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
