Warm air aloft to raise temperatures

Temperatures in Thailand are expected to rise on October 16 under the influence of warm air. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely at around 1,500 m aloft from the South China Sea, continuing to warm the air near the surface. This is expected to make daytime temperatures more likely to rise.

Outlook for major areas

Warm air is expected to cover the region during the period. Phuket is forecast to reach 35°C on the 16th, with humidity also high at 71%, making conditions hot and humid. Bangkok is forecast to reach 34°C, as is Chiang Mai; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Limit time outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids regularly and take steps to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
