Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From October 18 to 23, temperatures across Thailand are expected to rise as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, allowing sunshine to continue warming the surface. Warm air of +18°C or higher is expected to spread widely from the South China Sea at around 1,500 m, continuing to warm areas near the surface.

Outlook for major cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during the period. Chiang Mai is forecast to reach 35°C from the 18th to the 23rd, with humidity of 51% to 55%. Bangkok is forecast to reach 33–34°C, while Phuket is expected to see 31–33°C; neither is forecast to reach 35°C.

Limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking fluids regularly and improving ventilation indoors.
