Strong sunshine forecast to push Chiang Mai to 35°C

Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures
Temperatures in Thailand are expected to rise on October 25 as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies will be mostly clear, allowing sunshine to warm the ground. In addition, warm air of +18°C or higher around 1,500 m above the surface is spreading widely from the South China Sea and continues to warm the lower atmosphere. These conditions are making daytime temperatures more likely to rise.
Outlook for major cities
Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during the period. Chiang Mai is forecast to reach 35°C on October 25, with humidity at 54%. On October 26, clouds are expected to spread and weaken the sunshine, bringing Chiang Mai’s temperature down to 34°C. Bangkok is forecast to reach 34°C and Phuket 32°C, with neither expected to reach 35°C.
People are advised to limit outdoor activities as much as possible during the day. Drink water regularly and take measures to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
