Warm air and intense sunshine to raise temperatures

On November 1, intense sunshine combined with warm air will raise temperatures across Thailand. Skies will have few clouds, and intense sunshine continues to warm the ground. Warm air of +18°C or higher extends widely from the South China Sea at around 1,500 m above ground, also contributing to warming near the surface. These conditions are likely to push daytime temperatures higher.

Outlook for major locations

Intense sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Phuket is forecast to reach 35°C on November 1, with humidity also high at 73%, making conditions muggy. Bangkok is forecast to reach 34°C, as is Chiang Mai; neither is expected to reach 35°C.

Limit outdoor activities during the day as much as possible. Drink fluids regularly and take steps to cope with the heat, such as keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
