Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures
On November 2, temperatures are expected to rise in Thailand as warm air and strong sunshine combine. Warm air of +18°C or higher at around 1,500 m altitude, spreading from the South China Sea, continues to warm the air near the surface. Cloud cover is also limited, adding to the effects of strong sunshine. These factors are likely to drive daytime temperatures higher.
Outlook for major cities
Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist during this period. Bangkok is forecast to reach 35°C on the 2nd, with humidity at 57%. Chiang Mai and Phuket are each forecast to reach 34°C, below 35°C.
Avoid going outdoors during the day as much as possible. Drink water regularly and take steps to cope with the heat, such as improving ventilation indoors.
