High pressure aloft to bring Hanoi, Vietnam, highs of 35°C

High pressure ridge to drive temperatures higher
From October 24 to 26, high pressure aloft and warm air will combine to raise temperatures in Vietnam. Around 5,000 m, a ridge of high pressure is extending more strongly than in surrounding areas, making cloud formation less likely. At around 1,500 m, warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the South China Sea and continuing to warm the air near the surface. This pattern is expected to persist for the time being.
Forecast for major cities
High pressure aloft and warm air are expected to persist throughout the period. In Hanoi, stronger sunshine is also forecast, with temperatures reaching 35°C from the 24th to the 26th and humidity ranging from 48% to 56%. Temperatures in Hanoi are expected to fall to 33°C on the 27th as the ridge of high pressure moves away. Da Nang is forecast to reach 31–33°C and Ho Chi Minh City 32–33°C; neither is expected to reach 35°C.
Please limit outdoor activity during the day as much as possible. Take measures to cope with the heat, such as drinking fluids regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
