The mission of the Global Ice Center is to monitor sea ice in all sea ice affected regions.
The Arctic sea, Baltic Sea, Sea of Okhotsk, the Gulf of St. Lawrence and so on, and to provide global information to maritime companies for ship safety.
The Global Ice Center operationally receives sea ice and weather data from Weathernews Data Corner, Weathernews Forecast Corner, the National weather and sea ice organization from various countries plus information from ships.
The operational team of the Global Ice Center. process and provide data and information 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to support ship Masters and Operators.
The Global Ice Center is the “field” for maritime companies and academia to work together to achieve the dream of Polar Routeing and to provide innovative service for ship safety concerning sea ice.
For the innovative service, the Global Ice Center reinforces the network between maritime companies ship operations and academia by using innovative technology.
