Weathernews Enables Users of the French Bouygues Telecom’s i-mode™ portal to Experience Weather Like Never Before
With Weathernews’ “L’Autre Meteo,”Bouygues Telecom i-mode™ Customers Now Can Check the Weather in an Innovative Design and Create their Very Own Weather PagePARIS, France (17th February, 2006) Weathernews France SAS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Weathernews Inc., the world's largest publicly traded full service weather company, announced today that it has successfully launched weather content to Bouygues Telecom customers with i-mode™ enabled phones.
Now, with access to Weathernews’ site “L’Autre Meteo” on the i-mode™ portal, Bouygues Telecom customers are able to experience a different way of checking weather in their city (36,000 French cities) for up to 7 days, as well as in specific leisure sites such as the stadium of their favorite football team, or their winter destination. Furthermore, Weathernews’ “L’autre Meteo” offers unique mail services: “morning mail” sent daily to a user so he/she can decide what to wear before leaving home, and “rain alerts” sent before a forecasted shower so one can prepare oneself.
Innovative design using Macromedia’s FLASH
Furthermore, Weathernews’ “L’Autre Meteo” offers an innovative design and intuitive navigation on Bouygues Telecom’s very successful new i-mode™ handsets, N500i and S500i that are empowered with FLASH technology. Using this new technology, Weathernews’ “L’Autre Meteo” offers users a simple way to check today and tomorrow, weekly weather in each French region, as well as viewing satellite images.

Customization, such as ringtones, screen savers, are important features of mobile life, and Weathernews “L’Autre Meteo” enables customers to create a unique weather page with the choice of viewing minimum and maximum temperatures, rain and wind data as well as a link to a 7-day forecast. FLASH empowered handset owners can also chose between a FLASH and a HTML version of their access page.
Bouygues Telecom customers can access Weathernews’ “L’Autre Meteo” content by simply going to “News&Meteo” listed on the i-menu from their i-mode™ phones. One click and you're there!
Weathernews’ “L’Autre Meteo” will continuously enrich its content throughout the year by introducing features such as UV and pollen indexes or beach weather.
