Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From October 23 to 26, warm air and strong sunshine are expected to combine to raise temperatures across Indonesia. Warm air of at least +18°C is spreading widely from the Indian Ocean at an altitude of around 1,500 m, continuing to warm areas near the surface. Skies are expected to be mostly clear, adding to the effects of solar radiation. The heat is expected to peak on October 23.

Outlook for major cities

Warm air and strong sunshine are expected to persist during this period. Surabaya is forecast to reach 37°C from the 23rd to the 26th, with humidity ranging from 39% to 45%. By contrast, temperatures are forecast at 32–34°C in Jakarta and 31–33°C in Denpasar, where sunshine will be weaker; neither city is expected to reach 35°C.

Please avoid going outdoors as much as possible during the day. Take precautions against the heat, such as drinking water regularly and keeping indoor spaces well ventilated.
