Warm air and strong sunshine to raise temperatures

From November 4 to 10, temperatures are expected to rise across India as strong sunshine combines with warm air. Skies are expected to have few clouds, and strong sunshine continues to warm the ground. Warm air of +18°C or higher is spreading widely from the Arabian Sea at around 1,500 m, and conditions are expected to continue warming the area near the surface.

Outlook for cities

Strong sunshine and warm air are expected to persist during this period. Mumbai is forecast to reach 36°C from the 4th to the 10th, with humidity of 34% to 49%. Delhi is forecast to reach 29–32°C and Chennai 30–31°C. In Lucknow, temperatures are expected to reach 29–30°C, as warm air is not moving into the lower levels. None of these three cities is expected to reach 35°C.

Please limit outdoor activity during the day as much as possible. Take precautions against the heat by drinking fluids regularly and improving ventilation indoors.
